Cornell College has a new domain name on the Internet, cornellcollege.edu, which will be phased in over two years. During this time the old address, cornell-iowa.edu, also will function. This change also affects e-mail addresses, which will change to firstname.lastname@example.org from email@example.com.
The college is making this change to standardize its identity on the Internet. In all venues except the Web, we are known as Cornell College and the institution has protected that identity, or brand, through history. Cornell acquired the cornell-iowa.edu domain in 1991 when there was a limit of 12 characters. The cornellcollege.edu domain will be more recognizable, intuitive, and friendly to Internet users worldwide.
