Education professor Dick Peters gives his students this list with the suggestion that these books become "the heart of your professional development reading list."

"We want to grab students, engage them, and make a contribution to their minds and hearts. If our students study that kind of teaching and see us doing it, they'll be able to go out and do it too," says associate professor Dick Peters.
