About two dozen students receive help in financing off-campus study each year thanks to a gift from the family of Catherine Cat Levy 98, who was awarded a degree posthumously following a fatal automobile accident just months before commencement.
With donations from family and friends, her parents, David and Lucy Levy of St. Louis, established the Catherine Levy Off-Campus Study Fund. Levy was an art major with a minor in art history and an emphasis in pottery. She also was active in the production and technical crews of Cornell plays. She planned someday to open a ceramics shop and pottery studio. After the accident, which also killed sophomoreKate Reinhart of St. Louis, art faculty assembled Levys senior thesis show, the final step she needed to complete a major in art.
