Thanks to an upgrade in wattage—from 36 to 45 watts—KRNL now reaches listeners as far south as Solon and as far west as Highway 13 outside of Cedar Rapids. “On good days we can be heard a little farther than that,” notes general manager Robyn Krause, a junior.
For still out-of-reach locations, KRNL broadcasts over the Internet. Due to limited bandwidth, a maximum of 32 listeners at a time can tune in over the Net.
KRNL is broadcasting Ram football games for the second consecutive season and plans to broadcast a second year of men’s and women’s basketball games.
