Aims of the Fellowship
I had the amazing opportunity to travel to the heart of Los Angeles and work in the prestigious Valentine lab at UCLA. I worked with the highly-researched enzymatic protein human copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (SOD1), empirically linked with the neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS is more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
