Aims of the Fellowship
The fellowship was an extension of my Honors Thesis in
Environmental Studies. I spent my fellowship in Columbia, South Carolina,
as a guest of Dr. John Dean. Dr. Dean is
a Cornell alumnus, class of 1958. He is
a distinguished professor emeritus at the University of South Carolina (USC),
where he was a professor of marine biology and helped to found the Baruch
Institute for Marine and Coastal Sciences.
