Paxton Fellow in Theater Design

Puppet Kitchen
New York City, New York

Aims of the Fellowship

The Puppet Kitchen designs, builds, performs, directs, and teaches puppetry domestically and abroad. There I will be assigned to work on various projects, which come on a client to client basis. One of the larger projects, the "TV Puppet Menu," tasks me with aiding in the creation of a "Menu" for consumers to order tv puppets or "muppets" from. My personal project, creating a viable character puppet that accurately reads on screen and stage, will be assessed near the end of my fellowship. I hope to gain knowledge on how to successfully operate in a professional workshop from this experience. Partnered with my upcoming role as Scene Shop Manager at Cornell, this knowledge will prove valuable post-graduation.
