September 3, 2004
Dear Fellow Roman Traveller, On Tuesday, September 14th, we will meet from 6:00p to 7:00p in the Berlin Room in the Commons. Among the items to be discussed will be our tentative itinerary and things you can do now to prepare for the trip. As a special bonus, there will be a brief slide show highlighting some of the sites on our trip. If for some reason you cannot attend, please let me know in advance. In addition, you should pay the Business Office your initial deposit of $700 by September 15. All checks should be made payable to Cornell College, with the memo "account #6509-72374, Italy trip." As for the schedule, this is how it will work: Initial deposit $700 due September 15, 2004 Downpayment $1000 due December 1, 2004 Final Payment $1200-1500 due March 1, 2005 These amounts are tentative. We may have to pre-pay hotel rooms in full to get the best possible price. If that is the case, then the December 1 payment will be larger and the last payment will be smaller. There will be absolutely no refunds from 30 days prior to departure. There may be refunds of some or all your payment before this time. Those of you who are only on the waiting list for CLA 9-382. Do not worry. If you still want to be a part of the course, your chances are excellent that you will be able to participate. Just follow the schedule outlined above, and you will keep yourself in the running. The chances that everyone currently registered will go are slim since money and course schedule may force them to drop. Keep hope alive. And please feel free to call me if you have any further questions. Vale, John Gruber-Miller P.S.
