Student Health Service

The Student Health Center is staffed by two licensed and experienced registered nurses who work in collaboration with the College physicians on a consultation and referral basis. The physicians are from Integra Health Mount Vernon. Student Health Center services include evaluation and management of acute and chronic illnesses, injury care, contraceptive counseling and pregnancy testing, maintenance allergy shots, wellness care, and a number of diagnostic laboratory tests. Students requiring x-rays will be referred to the local clinic. Gynecological services are provided on campus by The Emma Goldman Clinic on a weekly basis. Prescription medications are phoned to the local pharmacy unless otherwise specified by the student. Crutches and heating pads are available for loan on a limited basis.

All students are required to have health insurance. This may be through an existing family policy or through Cornell's accident and sickness insurance. A photocopy of each student's insurance card must be kept on file at the Health Center. Filing a claim with Cornell's Student Insurance is the student's responsibility. Assistance in filing a claim and information regarding benefits are available at the Health Center and the Dean of Students' Office.

All medical records are maintained in strict confidence and are securely stored. No information is released without the student's written permission.
