The following interdepartmental major is available only as a teaching major:
Teaching Major in Theatre and Speech: A minimum of 10.75 course credits in Theatre and Communications Studies, which include:
- the following full-credit courses:
COM 121,
235,
323,
326;
THE 115,
311,
312,
either 107
or 108
or 302,
364
or, with Departmental approval,
363; and
- a total of one course credit from THE 715;
two quarter credits selected from
among THE 751,
752,
753,
and 754;
and an additional one-quarter credit in
either THE 715
or COM 561.
In addition to the foregoing requirements, prospective teachers must
also apply for admission to the Teacher Education
Program (preferably at the start of their sophomore year) and complete a
second major in Secondary Education described under
Education.
