Combined Degrees Program in Social Service Administration
Cornell and the University of Chicago offer a Three-Two Program leading to a baccalaureate degree from Cornell and a Master of Arts degree from the University. This program is open to all students, regardless of their undergraduate majors, who are interested in adoption and foster care placement; community and school activity aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency and other social problems; public welfare agencies; mental health programs; settlement houses and correctional settings; and helping individuals and families cope with emotional and social problems.
The first three years of the program are undertaken at Cornell in regular liberal arts studies. The student will then spend the next two years in the master's program of the School of Social Service Administration of the University of Chicago. Candidates for this program must (1) satisfy the requirements set forth above under ``Degree Programs in Combination with Professional Schools,'' (2) be certified as eligible by the College, and (3) be accepted by the School of Social Service Administration under its regular admissions procedures.
In addition to a variety of concentrations in Social Service Administration at the master's level, the School also offers advanced study leading to the Ph.D. degree. Program Advisor: Professor Richard Peterson.
