Philosophy of Intercollegiate Athletics
Intercollegiate athletics provide a unique and valuable experience in the total educational program. They contribute significantly to the development of the individual student and provide excellent opportunities for growth, self-realization, and fulfillment of personal and group potential. The athletic program exists for the benefit of students rather than for the sake of publicity, prestige, or profit of the College or any individual connected therewith.
Therefore, intercollegiate athletic programs are designed to enhance education, fitness, and recreation; to assure safety to all athletes; to promote the highest ethical standards of competition; to provide the highest level of athletic competition consistent with the educational goals of the College.
