Requirements for Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Career Tour with Nonprofit Organizations
- Apply online by noon Friday, February 1st. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a spot on the trip. Applicants should be notified by end of the day on Friday, February 1st if they have been accepted.
- Attend the Pre-departure meeting on Monday, February 4th (11:30 am in the CEC).
- Please note this is a free program, however if you are selected to attend and accept the spot on the trip, but then fail to show up, you will be charged a $5 fee to your student account.
Tentative Itinerary (8.30am-4.00pm)
Thursday, February 7th
8.30am-depart from The Thomas Commons Circle
9.00am-site tour, career panel and meet and greet with industry professionals at Four Oaks, a local Child welfare, juvenile justice and behavioral health agency: http://www.fouroaks.org/
10.45am-site tour, career panel and lunch at Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids: http://tsacedarrapids.org/
2.00pm-meeting and discussion with Laura Dowd, Executive Director and Founder of Local Foods Connection (Iowa City), a regional leader in supporting and educating low-income families on healthy food initiatives. http://www.localfoodsconnection.org/
