Exploreship Program

What is an Exploreship?
Your opportunity to participate in a one to two day job shadow experience with a Cornell alum or professional in a particular industry. It is an opportunity to explore a career interest, network with professionals in your field, gain valuable experience, and get the inside look at a potential career.

How Does It Work?
The Career Engagement Center will source opportunities in a variety of industries and students can contact the career center to set up an exploreship. Please note an application does not guarantee a placement.

Is There A Charge?
There is no fee for this service, although you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation and, if necessary, accommodation. We encourage students to think about a local Exploreship or choosing a location close to family or friends where housing is available.

Who Can Participate?
Any Cornell student, Freshman through Senior year, can apply for an Exploreship.

What do you need to do to apply?
Send an updated resume and personal statement (one page or less) explaining how you feel your Exploreship of choice fits in with your academic and professional goals. You may apply for more than one Exploreship, however must submit a separate personal statement for each one.

Exploreship opportunities for academic year 2011-2012 will be posted when details are available.
