FAQ

When is my timecard due?

Timecards are generally due on the 3rd of each month.  Please see our Pay Schedule for detailed information.  Late timecards mean the student must wait an additional month for payment.  Remember, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that you are paid on time.

When will I get my pay?

Earnings are directly deposited to the employee's bank account on the 15th of each month or, if the 15th falls on a weekend, the first working day after the 15th.  Please see our Pay Schedule for detailed information.  A direct deposit statement will be delivered to your campus box on payday.

How should I fill out my timecard?

All timecards are specific with student name, ID#, department/office name, pay period, and account number.  Unless your department uses a punch clock, please record your time in intervals of 15 minutes, using decimals.  15 minutes is .25 hour, 30 minutes is .5 hour, and 45 minutes is .75 hour.

A timecard can only be used for one student. Timecards must be completed in ink and the student and the supervisor must sign the timecard before the student can be paid for the hours worked.  Any changes or corrections on a timecard must be initialed by the supervisor.

It is payday and I didn't get a direct deposit statement, what should I do?

Contact the Business Services office at 319-895-4246.

My supervisor is off campus and I need to have my timecard signed, what should I do?

If you cannot reach your supervisor by phone or email to arrange a time to get your timecard signed, please look for another faculty or staff member in the department to obtain a signature.  If your supervisor has scheduled time to be off campus when your card needs to be signed, an alternate should be designated.
