The univoltine weevil has never been eaten, but could be. Its grub-like larvae looks like something akin to fly larvae, which is often consumed by humans. It inhabits North America and normally eats eastern white pine trees. They could be prepared fried in butter with some light seasoning by anyone stuck deep in the forests of North America with an empty belly.
