Bogong Moths are indigenous to the Bogong Mountains in Australia. Gathering in large numbers on the rock floor and in crevices, the Aborigines have no problem harvesting them.

Aborigines cook these moths in the sand and stir them in hot ashes, burning their wings off. Then sifted through a net and eaten. Or they are crushed into paste to make a cake.
