The clothes moth is a small cream-colored moth that avoids light and prefers the dark. The larvae of the cloth moth eat wool, fur, silk, feathers and leather. The larvae sometimes eat holes completely through fabric. The clothes moth does not feed at all. The larval stage of a cloth moth can last from 1-3 months. The larva is a creamy white caterpillar. The best way to avoid the cloth moth larvae is to dry clean fabric before storing it or storing it in tightly packed tupper wear or boxes. |
