Native American Indian legends told that butterflies would carry the wishes to the Great Spirit in heaven to be granted.
A butterfly is an insect closely related to the moth, both are of the order Lepidoptera. Most butterflies have bright colorings and designs on their wings. A butterfly goes through four stages throughout its lifetime: egg, larva, pupa, and butterfly. Butterflies usually live off of nectar from flowers, but some get food from pollen, rotting fruit, and dissolved minerals in wet dirt.
