A common myth about moths is that all moths eat clothing. Only a few species actually do, and they require clothes that are preferably dirty and hidden in dark places where they are not disturbed. Silk webbing is usually associated with moth damage. Most holes in clothing are not caused by moths.
Moths are insects in the order Lepidoptera. They are similar to butterflies but differ slightly. Most moths are nocturnal, but some are day-flying species. The Owlet moth gets its name from the fact that its eyes will glow in the dark when you shine a light on it. The larval stage of the Owlet Moth is called Armyworms or Cutworms because of their destructive eating habits of plants.
