E is for egg laying. Egg laying is necessary for the survival of any species. In cockroaches,the mother lays an egg case, containing thirteen to sixteen eggs. Egg cases are a specailty of cockroaches, and are protective from outside dangers. Some roaches hide their cases, while others hold on to it until the young are ready to hatch. |
