It may be dangerous to attempt, but if caught, Red Fire Ants can be served on toast or in a Thai salad. Known for being aggressive, the red fire ant has been know to attack plants, animals, and even people. Red ants have also been to blame for damage to homes and other buildings. The red fire ant will build its mound in almost any type of soil, but sunny pastures, parks, lawns and meadows are where it prefers. Each colony may contain 300-500,000 workers in it.
