robberfly
Robber flies are small flies which can be very dangerous to bees and other insects even larger than themselves. They catch their prey in the air and immobilize them with poison. Their mouthparts have been modified to stab into their victims and inject them with venom. Like many other flies, they have excellent vison because of their compound eyes.
