X is for... Xenopsylla Cheopis

Xenopsylla cheopis spreads disease by living on infected rats. The rats eventually die from the plague or Typhus and the fleas then have to find a new host. Since the rats that the fleas live on inhabit cities, man is often the next host that the fleas find. The fleas then pass on the plague to man.
