Jaundice is a medical condition caused by the failure of the liver. When a person's liver fails, a toxin called bilirubin begins to build up in the body. Bilirubin collects in the skin and eyes, causing a yellowing effect. Jaundice among adults can be caused by a variety of factors, insect transmitted diseases among them. |
