No-see-ums
No-See-Ums are members of the Ceratopogonids and are also refereed to as biting midges, punkies, gnats or moose flies. They are very small insects and can easily pass through screen doors. They have very nasty bites that are very painful because their jaws, cut the skin. They feed on the blood of horses, sheep, poultry, cattle, humans and turtles. They also transmit viruses.
