Namita Shah '12

Namita Shah '12 spent two months during the summer of 2010 as a marketing intern at Amazing Edibles, the catering company founded and run by alumna Andrea Hererra '85. Her initial duty was to create articles for Amazing Edibles' monthly newsletter, but her primary focus soon became photographing the delectables created in the kitchen and assisting the sales director with the creation of several promotional pieces.

Namita says, "I am extremely proud of the quality of my work. The two months at Amazing Edibles were invaluable and I will walk away knowing much more about small businesses and what it takes to run one. After a bit of reflection of my time there, I have discovered a strong interest in graphic design for advertising and marketing purposes. I have a minor in Studio Art to accompany my Economics and Business major and I think a career in advertising and marketing might be the perfect way to combine my two areas of interest. I am currently looking into advertising internships, job shadows and career opportunities for the future. This internship gave me insight into a field I hadn't thought much about and gave me enough experience to realize I investigate this as a possible career path. It was a wonderful summer and hopefully I will be able to try for another internship next summer."
