Frank Dixson '10

Frank Dixson '10, spent the 2008 summer as an intern for A.G. Edwards in Atlanta, Georgia.  A.G. Edwards is now a part of Wachovia Securities.  Dixson was able to prospect for clients through cold-calling and mailers, research the market, and attend meetings with brokers and clients.

Says Dixson, "Throughout the course of this internship I have participated in a number of academically beneficial activities that have allowed me to observe and participate directly in the field of the firm.  Discussing the business with the firm's various employees has told me a lot about both prospecting and advising clients, as well as unveiled many of the mysteries behind the finance sector.  When combined with my readings, this internship has taught me a lot."

Dixson is pleased with the experience, "I feel it was a successful internship that immersed me in a series of real-life, educational experiences that have allowed me to both get a feel for the business and the manner in which topics transcend from classroom to career applications."
