
Christian Fong
Professor Laurel Anderson's ECB 266: International Marketing course welcomed Distinguished Visitor Christian Fong to campus. Fong developed a case on expansion and branding in different Asian markets and led the case discussion in class, focusing on questions such as which markets to look at and what risks to take, how to show the expansion country respect, localization versus standardization, global or local branding, methods of entry and taking the cultural factors into account.Fong has a B.S. in Statistics from Creighton University and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He is a CFA and CCIM charter holder. He is the Former Managing Director at AEGON USA and is the Managing Partner of Fong Strategic Consulting, where he assists social sector and financial sector clients with strategic and organizational change.
Fong is a founding appointee and Chair of the Generation Iowa Commission. He serves on the boards of ImpactCR (Past-Chair) and Brucemore, Iowa’s only National Trust for Historic Preservation site. He previously served on the Cedar Rapids Recovery & Reinvestment Coordinating Team, the Board of Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce, where he served as chair of the Small Business Task Force, and was a founding member of the Linn Area Long-Term Recovery Coalition.
