Ms. Minette has received her undergraduate degree from Drake University and a Masters in Organizational Communication from the University of Northern Iowa. Ms. Minette is a life time certified Senior Professional in Human Resource Management, as well as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, United Way Campaign leadership and board, and a volunteer for the Hospice Leadership Board. During her visit, Ms. Minette met with the students in Professor Santhi Hejeebu's "Economics of Organizations" course in December 2007. During the class, she presented and discussed a case study on the managerial practices at VDS. “I really enjoyed Kate’s visit.” said junior Tim Muszyuski, “She did a good job introducing [human relations] to set us up for the case study. I really appreciated the fact that she shared with us her experiences and gave us bits of advice along the way.” Following the class, Ms. Minette informally talked with students about careers in Human Resources during a brownbag lunch. Another student commented in a review of the course that Ms. Minette "helped me link the economics of the course with the human relations side of business. She was a very engaging speaker." |
