Cornell Fellow

Aims of the Fellowship

I will be working on a project based on prior research done in Dr. Kraig's lab that shows that environmental enrichment (social, physical, and intellectual activity) decreases neurological diseases, and increases cognition. This project focuses on tracking nasally delivered exosomes into the brain in order to determine if exosomes enter the brain and where the exosomes are distributed throughout the brain.

Through this opportunity I hope to gain hands on experience in a professional laboratory setting, learn new laboratory techniques and increase my understanding of the scientific research process.  I also hope to learn more about neurobiology and explore the field of neurobiology as a potential career path.  By participating in the Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research program, I also hope to gain a better understanding of the medical school admissions process.
