Rogers Fellow in Environmental Studies

University of South Carolina-Baruch Marine Field Laboratory
Georgetown, South Carolina

Aims of the Fellowship

I will be working with a team of interns and professional staff at the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory, located at the University of South Carolina, on experiments focusing on the Atlantic fish species tarpon. Our research will help foster an understanding of tarpon ecology and movement in South Carolina, for which there is little knowledge. I will also be writing a critical review of Ron Rash, a southern nature writer, and creating a body of creative works that address environmental issues, especially those related to our research. I hope to gain a more thorough understanding of the intersection between contemporary literature and the environment throughout my fellowship, while also acquiring experience on the field and in the lab.
