I will be monitoring Prothonotary Warblers from the Francis Beidler Forest boardwalk and determining the territory size, nesting success, and overall fitness of these birds. I will assist in Prothonotary banding efforts along the boardwalk in order to uniquely identify each bird. I will conduct surveys to create density estimates of Prothonotary Warblers along the boardwalk and along a canoe trail owned by Audubon Center at Francis Beidler Forest which are both old-growth forest. This project on Prothonotary Warblers is part of a broader project being done in other south-eastern areas throughout Prothonotary Warbler ranges and is called Project Protho. Along with these goals, I will be constructing and installing 10-20 nest boxes for Prothonotary Warblers.
