Block Break 7: Wednesday, April 12th-Friday, April 14th 2016 (2 nights)
Program Fee: $25 (This includes transportation, accommodation and most meals. Note: dinner on the second night is not included.)
Wednesday, April 12
12 p.m. Depart Mt. Vernon, IA for Chicago, IL-meet in front Commons Circle
4:30 p.m. Check-in at Hostelling International-Chicago
5:30 p.m. Attend student-alumni networking event at Plymouth Rooftop Bar and Grill, downtown, Chicago. We will have the opportunity to meet and connect with alumni from a variety of professional backgrounds and academic disciplines, as well as from a broad range of graduation years. Food and beverage will be provided.
8 ;30 p.m. Free to explore the city
Thursday, April 13
9 a.m. Site visit TBD
11:30 a.m. Lunch/walking tour of Chicago
2 p.m. Site visit, professional development workshop and speed networking event at Jacobson Group, a leading Chicago based recruiting firm. As a professional staffing agency, our friends at Jacobson know exactly what new young professionals need to do to be successful and competitive in the job market, and they are going to share some of their favorite tips, along with facilitating some connections.
4:30 p.m. Free for the evening/night...dinner is on your own.

Please note submitting an application does not guarantee a spot on the trip. If you are selected to go on the trip and accept the offer, but then fail to show up, you will be billed $25.

Requirements for the Chicago Career Tour
- Applications are due by noon on Friday, March 31. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee you a place on the trip.
- All participants will be required to attend a pre-departure meeting at 11.30am, Monday, April 10th in the Thayer Conference Room, Thomas Commons.
- Overnight accommodation and meals (except Thursday night dinner) will be provided for you on the trip.
