Ram rewind - Cornell picked up its first Iowa Conference dual win of the fall, blanking the University of Dubuque, 9-0, Saturday in Dubuque.

The second half of Saturday's scheduled IIAC double dual with Loras was suspended due to inclement weather with the Rams leading 3-0 after doubles play. Cornell dropped an 8-1 decision to Coe Friday in Mount Vernon.

Cornell's No. 2 doubles tandem of freshmen Kara Middleton (Wausau, Wis./Wausua West) and Alyssa Zavislak (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard South) finished a perfect week 3-0. The two scored Cornell's lone win over Coe (8-4) and prevailed, 9-7, over Dubuque. Middleton and Zavislak teamed for an 8-4 win over Loras, improving their season doubles mark to 6-6.

The Rams recorded straight-set wins in all six singles matches in the sweep of Dubuque. Cornell went 6-0 in doubles competition Saturday.

Tournament pairings released - The fifth-seeded Rams will face fourth-seeded Central (8-5) at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 in the first round of the IIAC Team Championships at Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center in Iowa City. The Rams will try to avenge a 5-4 loss to the Dutch Sept. 1 in Mount Vernon.
