MOUNT VERNON — Cornell men’s basketball players Chris Handke (Bellevue/Bellevue) and Adam Norton (Rushford, Minn./Rushford-Peterson) have been named to the Iowa Conference All-Academic teams for the 2007-08 winter season.

Handke, a sophomore center, is majoring in biochemistry. Norton, a sophomore center, is majoring in pre-medicine.

Seventy-six student-athletes from the conference’s five winter sports met the requirements for recognition.

To be eligible for IIAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must compete at the varsity level, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and attain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. A total of 264 student-athletes in the IIAC were recognized this fall.
