Rams roll in 9-0 rout of Beloit

Ram review - Cornell recorded its first dual shutout of the 2008-09 season, blanking Beloit 9-0 Sunday at Paley Tennis Center in Glendale, Wis. The Rams opened the weekend with an 8-1 setback Saturday to Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Cornell took all six singles matches in straight sets against Beloit, receiving wins from Kris Andresen (Katy, Texas/Taylor) at No. 1, John Mineck (Cedar Rapids/Kennedy) at No. 2, Neal Klauer (Fridley, Minn./Fridley) at No. 3, Brandon Wolff (Keokuk/Keokuk) at No. 4, Simon MacKenzie (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnehaha) at No. 5 and Ryan Walden (Edina, Minn./Edina) at No. 6. Walden did not surrender a game in his win. The Rams were also perfect in doubles play, their closest match an 8-6 victory from No. 1 tandem Andresen and Mineck.
Wolff was Cornell's lone winner against Milwaukee School of Engineering. The junior prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Andresen, Walden and Olson all fell in third-set tiebreakers, 10-8, in their singles matches. Klauer and Olson were on the short end of a tight 9-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.
