Ram rewind - Cornell junior forward Sungeun Kim (Kathmandu, Nepal/Lincoln) notched his sixth goal of the season, but his score was all the offense the Rams would muster in a pair of Iowa Conference setbacks last week.

The Rams (3-11 overall, 0-5 IIAC) fell 7-0 against Wartburg in an Oct. 14 night match in Waverly. Cornell then dropped a 4-1 decision to Central Saturday in Mount Vernon.

Kim registered his goal on a second-half corner kick against Central, which cut the Rams' deficit to 3-1 with 23 minutes remaining in the match. Central (6-8, 1-4) responded with an insurance goal in the 73rd minute to stave off any Cornell comeback.

Freshman goalkeeper Ben Alleva (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) posted six saves against the Dutch, who held a 20-2 advantage in shot attempts. Central led 2-0 at halftime and added a third goal at the 52-minute mark.

Cornell fell behind early at Wartburg, allowing a pair of goals in the opening seven minutes. The Knights (9-4-1, 4-2) went ahead 3-0 just before halftime and pulled away with four more goals in the second half.

The Rams were held to two shot attempts in the match, compared to Wartburg's 25. Kobina Essandoh (Worcester, Mass./Presec) and Kyle Roberts (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) each had one shot for the Rams. Alleva went the distance at keeper, collecting eight saves.
