Distinguished Achievement Award Recipients
Formerly the Alumni Achievement Award, the Distinguished Achievement Award is the highest joint honor awarded by the college and the Alumni Association.The basis of this award is outstanding generosity and/or service to the college; outstanding participation in community and civic affairs; and unusual achievement in one's field of endeavor. This award is given at the Homecoming Convocation.
From 1958-1983, The Alumni Achievement Award was presented at Commencement. After Commencement 1983, the college administration removed the award from that ceremony. In 1988 the name was changed to Distinguished Achievement Award. In 1988 and 1989, The Distinguished Achievement Award was presented during convocations in King Chapel. It was agreed the Distinguished Achievement Award should be presented during commencement beginning with Commencement 1992. More recently the award is again being presented during the Homecoming Convocation in King Chapel.
