President, Mike Conklin, opened the meeting at 8 a.m.
Minutes of the April 11, 2003 meeting were approved.
Ruth Keefe Miller '66, gave an update on Homecoming activities and Jennifer Boettger, reported on "RAMS All Around."
Sesquicentennial Gala Reports
Denver- R. K. Scott
He reported on a very successful event. Their venue was a cocktail reception and station buffet. They hosted beer and wine. RK indicated that there was a drawing for door prizes. The Denver club asked for donations from several key alumni in the area to help defray cost.
Minneapolis - Lisa Naaktgeboren
She told of the upcoming event at the Minikahda Club. The venue for this event will be a served meal.
St. Louis - John and Ann Loewe Turner
Plans are in progress.
Des Moines - Lu Ann White
Plans are in progress. Event will be held at The Des Moines Golf and Country Club.
Chicago - Allan Ruter/Mike Conklin
Plans are in progress. Event will be held at the University Club of Chicago.
The date for the Spring alumni board meeting will be held Friday, April 16, 2004.
Committee Reports
Student Assistance - Sharon Grice/Jayne Swanson
Jayne Swanson informed the board that there would be no more CLASP program. She will continue with the following programs-Externship, Invest in your Future, Life After Cornell; and hopes to expand the Internship program.
Sharon Grice thanked the board for the assistance they give to Admissions. She mentioned that the entering class is very diverse and that there is a high quality student on campus. ACT scores ranged from 23-29, and GPA average is 3.5. She reported that the CARE recruitment program using alumni is going well in several cities.
Jennifer Boettger reported on the Alum Chum program and asked the board to contact her if they would be willing to participate in the program.
Communications - Allan Ruter, chairperson
1. Dee Ann spoke about the Cornell Web site.
2. Asked for ideas regarding the site to be sent to her.
3. Dee Ann spoke about the Sesquicentennial Web site.
4. Board asked for a Cornell screen saver to be available to alumni.
5. Board requested that they be informed what materials prospect students receive.
6. They want to know the "basic game plan" regarding recruitment.
7. They would like to know the names of the school the counselors visit.
8. Requested more statewide publicity.
Motion moved and seconded to present the Leadership and Service award to Roger and Jenni Pritchard Stewart. Date of presentation is open.
Will explore the possibility of giving a Legacy award.
Alumni and College Advancement - Joe Campanelli
Joe Campanelli informed the board of the process that was being followed to stay in contact with class agents.
Thank you was extended to Mike Conklin for his leadership as president of the Alumni Association and a Sesquicentennial Bowl and Charles Milhauser book, signed by all board members, was presented to him.
Thank you was extended to Ann Parker Foote and Ruth Brown Ward who completed their terms of service.
Nominating Committee Report
The nominating committee presented the following slate of officers:

Motion moved and seconded to accept the slate of officers.
Lu Ann White took over and instructed the board about their participation in the float making and in the parade on Sat.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned and the board members worked on the Alumni Board float.
