Newly Admitted Students
Whether you're ready to enroll at Cornell or are still weighing your college options, we believe you will benefit from the options outlined here. Regardless of where you are in your decision-making process, please be aware of your rights and responsibilities as an admitted student.
1) Visit Campus
We encourage all admitted students to consider visiting campus. Visit campus to meet faculty, staff and, of course current students. Come to explore and to learn whether Cornell is the right college choice for you. Schedule an individual visit today!
2) Apply for Need-based Financial Assistance
To apply for need-based financial assistance, families are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov. Families should complete this process immediately. If you have general questions about financial assistance or specific questions about your award, please call the Office of Financial Assistance at (319) 895-4216.
3) Connect With Your Class, Mates!
Ready to dive into life as a Cornell student? Still weighing your options? Either way, we encourage you to join the We Got In! Facebook Group for newly-admitted students. You may also want to consider subscribing to some of Cornell's other social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Use these resources to interact with current students and get to know other students who are considering Cornell. Who knows? You just might find your roommate!
4) Find Answers to Your Questions
We have compiled a number of resources to help you learn more about Cornell or to connect with current students or admissions counselors via online chat sessions. If you or your parents have a specific question, or if there is someone on campus from whom you’d like to hear, complete a Contact Request Form, and we will do our best to assist you. You can contact the Office of Admission by email at admission@cornellcollege.edu, or phone at (319) 895-4215.
5) Make It Official
If you have decided to attend Cornell, congratulations! Secure your place in next year’s incoming class with a $300 enrollment deposit. Students who have decided to attend another college or who need to request an extension should complete the online version of the Notification and Extension Request Form. There is no guarantee requests for deadline extensions will be granted; they will be considered on the basis of merit and space availability.
After You Deposit
After you deposit, see your next steps in the enrollment process.
