Extraordinary Opportunities

In the Classroom, On Campus, and Around the World

Small classes, one course at a time, in a liberal arts context. A vibrant residential community dedicated to building leadership skills and deep relationships. Many opportunities for applied learning beyond campus. From these foundations arise the extraordinary opportunities that make up a Cornell education, leaving our graduates well prepared for whatever they choose to do next.

In the Classroom

Extraordinary things can happen in the classroom when students are allowed to focus on just one subject at a time. For four focused hours each day, students at Cornell explore new ideas, pursue their passions, and build mentoring relationships with their professors in small, collaborative classroom settings. Classroom

On Campus

At Cornell, some of your most significant experiences will happen outside the classroom — in your residence hall, in a special-interest group, on the Orange Carpet, in serving the community. There are more than 100 student-led groups on campus, and plenty of other ways to develop your skills and pursue your interests beyond the classroom. Learn more

Campus

Around the World

At Cornell, learning goes beyond the classroom — far beyond. Many courses take advantage of the block calendar to leave campus for an afternoon, a few days, an entire block, or even longer. Students also enjoy the flexibility to pursue internships, job shadowing, and independent studies anywhere in the world without affecting other coursework. Learn more
