Biographical Sketch

Martin Hearne, Professor of Music, teaches conducting, directs Cornell's instrumental ensembles, and oversees all aspects of the instrumental music program.  He has led groups on tours in Europe and the United States.  Dr. Hearne is active as an adjudicator, clinician, and music arranger.  He also serves as conductor for the Palisades Ensemble, a professional ensemble he founded in 1994, comprising some of the best instrumentalists in the region in performances of masterworks for chamber orchestra.
