Biographical Sketch

Guides students as they encounter worldviews that differ from their own. Her courses emphasize the importance of interpreting culture, observing it globally and historically, and developing cross-cultural skills for the real world. Core classes taught include “ANT101, Cultural Anthropology,” “Language and Culture,” “The Maya,” and “History of Ethnological Theory.” Students engage in a variety of classroom activities including small group discussions, oral presentations, videos, readings, research, and, of course, lecture.
