Ellen Kirk (left) knew she wanted to become a theatre professional and has found Cornell to be the perfect platform to explore her passions. Nurtured by working theatre professionals and guest artists, she's appeared in numerous Cornell productions and participated in the Chicago Arts Semester, all with minimal impact to her other coursework.

Passion

Wherever your passions lie, OCAAT provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue them.

Passionate about art? Devote a course block to creating the sculpture of your dreams. Does scientific discovery thrill you? Immerse yourself in a month-long experiment that breaks new ground. Immerse yourself in a new language, a style of literature, or the study of calculus.

And if your passion outgrows the college’s course listings, take it even further: design your own independent study, spend a block doing research, or pursue an internship. With OCAAT, there are no limits to what you can learn and do.

You can follow your passions outside the classroom, too. All Cornell classes end at 3 p.m. every day, leaving you free to spend the afternoons immersed in soccer, flute practice, community service, rock-climbing, or the consumption of excellent coffee.
