This is a study-skills course offered every year across blocks 2,3 and 4.   During the 2015-2016 school year, this course will be offered during blocks 6, 7, and 8 due to staffing changes in the fall.

During blocks 6, 7, and 8, the course will meet Mondays 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. in 410 Cole Library.  The course will also involve one hour of individual meetings every other week with the instructor to work on personal study skill goals and assignments.

A student earns .25 credit without a grade for successfully completing this 12-week course.  The course involves approximately 3 hours of time each week for class attendance, reading, and homework.   Topics covered include: time management, how to take notes from textbook and in lectures, how to evaluate and improve motivation, how to increase self-control and willpower, etc.

Please see the Coordinator for Academic Support and Advising  to register for the course before the course begins.   It will start Monday, February 8, 2016.

If you are interested in the course but cannot attend class on Monday afternoons, please notify the Coordinator.  You may also opt to meet individually with the Coordinator to discuss these topics to improve your skills, but won't be able to earn the credit.

The course will be taught during the 2016-2017 school year during blocks 2, 3, and 4.

Students receiving an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher probably do not need this course.
